F11 GIM Flight Performance

Flight Time

The Ruko F11 GIM drone comes with two battery units. One battery has a flight time of 28 minutes, a total of almost an hour with the two batteries. You’ll have ample time to fly this bird all over in one go. Battery indicators are built-in to inform how much juice is left and charging time takes 3-4 hours each.

Flight Speed

With its added weight, brushless motors, and strengthened battery, the Ruko F11 GIM can fly at 33 miles per hour max. It can handle gusts of wind with ease. You can take it outside more and fly without having to worry too much about the weather.

Flight Functions

Built-in GPS + GLONASS System

This enables the drone to automatically maintain stability without pilot input. The GPS and GLONASS systems help with the overall flight functions, receiving data from satellites freely for smoother flight practice.

Ultrasonic Positioning

The Ultrasonic Positioning works like Collision Avoidance in most drones. However, this only perceives whatever’s beneath the drone. Ultrasonic positioning helps the drone maneuver safely to the ground.

Optical Flow Positioning

With a barometric system that’s built-in, the Optical Flow Positioning function enables the drone to automatically adjust internal air pressure to match external air pressure. This function maintains the drone’s steady flight. It is always on and can be used as backup when GPS is weak.

Flight Modes

Headless Mode

This is the simplest function for newbies. In Headless Mode, the “front” of the drone or the forward direction becomes the direction you are facing when the drone takes off.

This mode was created because it can become difficult to tell what the front of the drone is when it’s up in the air. The drone flies in the direction the lever is pushed on the remote controller. This is essential to practice and get used to basic flight controls before filming or shooting. If you’ve flown other brands of drone you might have heard this function called Safe Mode or Homelock.

Speed Mode

The drone is designed to start up on the lowest setting by default so the user can get a grip on the basics. Once you’ve learned the basic flight controls, the speed mode is flexible, and you can adjust it to your liking.

For pros, the speed mode is used to execute complicated aerial manoeuvres and stunts

Smart Return to Home

If you lost your drone or it’s low on battery, the RTH function will enable it to fly a few meters up and travel in a straight line to a home point that you set initially.  Make sure to activate this function before you start flying just in case. If you have the Roku app on your smartphone, you’ll also see your drone’s location from there.

Automatic Landing and Takeoff

This is a function that beginners will find very handy. Start flying with ease at once and land seamlessly with a tap of a button.

Altitude Hold

The built-in altitude mode retains the drone on a stable height level for an effortless flight experience. It is enabled by default, but pros can have it disabled to test their skills and advance their pilot level.

Ruko F11 GIM Intelligent Flight Modes

Follow Me Flight Mode

Set the Follow Me mode on the app and once activated, the drone will follow the GPS location of the smartphone. Image recognition can also be used, the drone will capture a 360-degree image of you and will set to follow that image’s movements.

Orbit

Orbit mode works like Follow Me, but it circles you in a radius that you set. This can be activated on the smartphone and has shortcut controls on the remote.

Waypoint

Set your drone to fly on a set route with Waypoint mode. Activate and set the route on the app and once set, the drone will fly on its own.

Gesture

Once the Gesture mode is activated, the drone will automatically take a photo if you give it a piece sign or scissor sign with your right hand. Open your palm and it will automatically start recording a video in gesture mode.
